On Sunday, Cornerstone Church Kingston was able to celebrate Christmas together at an open-air carol service.

We were able to host church families, locals and guests at Tiffin Boy’s School car park, which is a huge outdoor space to allow for social-distancing.

Cornerstone musicians, including a brass section, took to the stage to deliver jazzy and modern renditions of classic Christmas carols.

In between songs, Pete Woodcock, Pastor, and Tom Sweatman, Assistant Pastor, led the service through the nativity story and its encouragements and challenges for us today.

They interviewed some of the characters that were featured in the Cornerstone Christmas advent calendar, including Mary, one of the Three Kings, a Shepherd and Herod the Great.

Children were able to enjoy a socially-distanced picture hunt and were rewarded with a goodie bag of treats. Mince pies and mulled wine were also offered for free.

As Sunday was the first day in Tier 4 for the Kingston area, it was a joy to be able to take part in the celebration with others and remember the coming of the Lord Jesus, our Saviour, and the sure hope that is found in Him.
