Three Words Your Teachers Don't Know

Tom Sweatman, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 7 June 2026

In The Mix of June, Tom asks one of the most important questions in the world: what is the Bible, anyway? Here is the God-breathed word: fully accessible, fully trustworthy, and more than enough for every good work. Come and see the beauty of the greatest book in existence.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Now last week, you'll remember, if you were here, we introduced the next section of the catechism.

This section is called daily bread. We've only got 1 more section after this called returning lord, but we are on daily bread. And this is the 1st question that we were learning last week or the week before in daily bread and it's this. What is the Bible? The Bible is god's perfect and trustworthy word.

Now that is 1 of the shortest answers that we've had in the catechism this year. It is only 8 simple words, but for the Christian life, And for Christian faith and for Christian living, those 8 words are critical for us to understand. We need to know not just what is in the Bible, But what the Bible teaches about the Bible. If we're going to know God properly, and if we're going to live rightly, and if we're going to stand against all the many pressures that there are in the culture, when it comes to living for Christ, we need to not only in our minds, but in our hearts, get it settled, what the Bible actually is. God's perfect and trustworthy word.

And kids here, he left in the service. I hope you are up for a bit of a challenge this morning because in order to learn what the bible is, We need to learn, or is that, oh, I think it's gonna be pretty fun to learn some pretty big words. Okay? Now these word, the reason the reason these words are exciting is is because none of your teachers are gonna know these words. Not many of them.

Yeah? Very few people in your classroom are gonna know these words. Your mates in the playground at school almost certainly won't know these words. So this morning, you are going to learn some words that is gonna put you in, like, the top 1 percent of people everywhere. Okay?

So you can go into your school, into your teachers, and your mates. You can say, sir, or miss, you won't have heard of this. Why don't I explain it to the class so that we can all know? Okay. So did you stand up for that?

Does that sound good? Wanna learn some of these words? Okay. Here we go. So the 1st 1 is this, and this is our 1st section.

The perspicuity of the Bible. The perspicuity of the Bible. It's a noun. There's some help with pronunciation, perspicuity of the Bible. Now, what does it mean?

Well, it simply means the quality of being clear and understandable. Funny, they've chosen a big complex word for that, isn't it? The quality of being clear and understandable. Question 1, the Bible is god's good and perfect trustworthy words. Therefore, it is clear.

And it can be understood. Have a look at these words from deuteronomy chapter 30. This is a book in the Old Testament. This command I am giving you today is not too difficult for you. And it is not beyond your reach.

It is not kept in heaven so distant that you must ask, well, who's gonna go to heaven and bring it down so that we can hear and obey it? It is not kept beyond the sea so far away that you must ask Well, who's gonna cross the sea to bring it to us so we can hear and obey it? No. The message is very close at hand. It is on your lips and in your heart.

So that you can obey it. Isn't that wonderfully put? The words which God has spoken to us in the Bible are not far away. So that we have to travel and seek them out in some kind of maze, and they're not too high that we need someone special to come down and tell us the meaning, a meaning we could never discover for ourselves. No.

The Bible god's words are close to us, and they are clear. They're clear. The same idea you find in the new testament. In acts chapter 17, we meet a group of Burian Jews who are commended in the Bible for what they do in this verse. These Burian Jews received the message with great eagerness, that's Paul's preaching, they received it with great eagerness and examined the scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

And what is great about that is that they are not just accepting what Paul says. I mean, this is the apostle Paul. Yeah? But they're not just gonna accept what he says. They are testing it against the Bible.

But that only works if the Bible can actually be understood. If you can't understand the meaning of the Bible, then how on earth are you gonna cross check it against what someone is saying? It needs to be clear. So that other teaching can be evaluated. It's a bit like trying to weigh yourself on a set of faulty scales.

If the scales themselves are broken or giving an unclear reading, then you're not going to get an accurate measure of how much you actually weigh. The the source needs to be clear and working in order for you to test and examine. Okay? Now why does all of this matter? Why do we need it to be true that the Bible is clear and understandable?

Well, to help us, I've got a little game. Okay? Now what I want you to do is to work with the person next to you for this game. I am going to show you a series of pictures and you have got to tell me at the point you think you know what the image is. Okay?

So in your twos, I'm gonna show you a sequence of images. If you think you would like more help in understanding what the image is, you put your hand up. We need more help. If you think you know what it is, you stand up. Okay?

But if you're wrong, you're out. Okay? So choose your partner carefully, in other words. Right. Here's the 1st image.

Okay? Put your hand up if you need more help. Help. If someone Tom Smith is standing, but I guess not because He thinks he knows the answer. He needs help.

Okay? Here's image number 2. Put your hand up if you need more help. Okay. Alright.

Let's just calm, settle down, everybody, settle it down. I think Ken, it's Ken's last Sunday with us, I think this Sunday. It's been lovely to have Ken this last couple of weeks, Ken. What or actually who is this? Yes.

Thought I'd turn the knife right, just as you stood up. Anyone know? Yes, Amelia? It is not woody. Amelia, I commend your bravery, but you are now out of the game.

Okay. Yes. Yeah. Now I'm looking for a who. It's it is an ear harmony.

You're right. Yes. Yes. Last 1. So you want more help?

Yes. Okay. More help. Okay. More help.

Here we go. Yes, sir. Oh, just say it a bit louder. Super Mario. There we go.

Okay. Here's the next 1. And here's the last 1. There he is. Okay.

There we go. There's Super Mario. Well done. Now that illustration did have a purpose to it, believe it or not. And it's this, unless I give you the clues or reveal the next step to you, There is no way you're going to get the right answer.

Yeah? You need me up here at the front in order to give you the clues so that you can get clear what the image is. And in a far more serious way, there are times in church history where that's what people wrongly taught and believed about the Bible. That the Bible is far too complicated for the ordinary person to understand. And that's why you need a priest.

That's why you need someone like me who can stand up at the front and show you what you could never discover for yourself, because you're not bright enough. And you're not well educated enough, and you don't speak Latin. Which the Bible at 1 time was in, did you? Are there you go, Zocchi does? Zocchi knows Latin.

But you're not as bright as Zocchi, most of you. Okay? You're barely literate. Yeah? And so to get to the meaning of the Bible, you need a priest.

That's what people have taught and believed at points in church history. But during the reformation of the 16th century, which is a very important time in Christian history, There were people who pushed back at that and said, no, no, let let's let's just back up a minute here. Before we talk about what the Bible is, this question of clarity is a question about god himself. Do you believe that god is capable of being clear? And do you believe that god wants us to understand him?

Well, if he is capable of being clear and wants us to understand him, then what sort of word is he going to give us? He's going to give us 1 that is clear and 1 which we can understand. That's why people like this man, William Tyndale, spent their lives translating the Bible into the language of the people. Because they were convinced that as long as people had the Bible in a language they could understand, the meaning of god's word would be clear to them. They would read it and understand for themselves because god's word is clear.

And actually, this week, you may have seen, it is the 5 hundredth anniversary year of William Tyndale's English, New Testament. And this week, I think it was Thursday. It went on display at Saint Paul's Cathedral. Many, many of them were burnt and destroyed. But not all of them, and 1 of them is ensimples right now.

So I was thinking for 1 of the soul or the cornerstone kids, the 1st 1 who can send in a picture of themselves with Tyndale's Bible might be given a special prize at the following church service. Okay? So here is is very exciting yet. People like Tyndale, they lived and died because they believed the Bible was clear. And that people would understand it if only they could read it.

And so do you see when people like myself or when people like Alex tonight stand up to preach, our role is to explain god's word as best we can. And our role is to try to apply it as best we can, and our role is to proclaim the good news about Jesus as well as we can. But it is not to say that I am going to show you something that you could never discover for yourself, that here I am to pull a rabbit out of the hat. Surprise is the meaning which you would never have got if it wasn't for me. No.

No. No. That's not what we're saying. Persuity means that god's word is clear and it can be understood. So we're thinking about this wonderful word, purse security, which means that god's word is clear and can be understood.

But before we move on to our next big word, there's a couple of other things to say about this 1, and I wanna begin by going back just 30 seconds or so to that great song that we just sung together. Look what we just said. Your spirit lives inside, and he points us to your truth, shining like a flashlight, revealing more of you. Our help. To understand your word.

Our help who gives us strength to serve. Our help so we can love you more. We need your Holy Spirit Lord. In other words, although the Bible is clear and can be understood, we need the help of God's spirit if we're going to interpret it and understand it. Rightly.

Our help. We need a help. You see, you will know that there are many people today who can study a book like Hebrews, which we've been studying in our morning services. And because god has given them wonderful brains, they are able to know lots about the the Greek of Hebrews, and they're able to know all kinds of clever things about the structure of Hebrews. And they might have some great guesses when it comes to the authorship of Hebrews and the history of the book.

But because those people may not be Christians, and in fact they may not even bother to ask for god's help, when they come to his words, they are not going to understand that the book of Hebrews is not just a document to be analyzed. It was written that we might love Christ. And that we might not drift away from the lord Jesus Christ. I think that's very important. There are lots by god's common grace that all kinds of people can learn true things about the Bible.

But if they miss that the meaning of the bible is worship and faith, then whatever meaning they've got is not the meaning because the clear meaning of scripture is to inspire devotion and love and trust for the lord Jesus Christ. And that is why we need the Holy Spirit. We need the Spirit to lead us to the meaning which is worship, not just analysis. But worship. We need the spirit.

So that's 1 thing. The other thing we need to say is that although the Bible is clear, not every passage is easy to understand. Have a look at what Peter says about Paul in 2 Peter 3 verse 15 to 16. Here's Peter writing to the church. Paul also wrote to you with the wisdom that God gave him.

He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort. Isn't that quite an extraordinary verse? There is 1 apostle saying about another apostle. Some of his stuff is actually not that easy to understand.

Quite interesting, isn't it? I've read Paul's letters and, man, some of that's not easy. Yeah? I think that's very, very helpful, particularly for new Christians because it's easy to think if you're a new Christian, Well, if I can't understand this part of the Bible, maybe I can't understand any of it. Maybe this whole book is not for me, but that is simply not the case.

You might imagine it a little bit like 2 doors. Some doors are very very easy to open. All you have to do is apply a little bit of light pressure and thought. And you will open into fresh air. Maybe John 14 6 is a little bit like that.

I am the way and the truth and the life. No 1 comes to the father except through me. You just push on that verse a little bit and you're in fresh air. Jesus is the only 1 who's gonna bring me to the father. Jesus is the truth and the life that I need.

And just with a little push, the meaning is clear. But then there are other doors, like maybe the door at the hub, which are a lot heavier, and they require a bit more shoulder and leaning. And they will give, and you will get out into the fresh air eventually but it requires a bit more push and leaning and thought. We might say that some parts of books like revelation are a little bit little bit like that. They do open, but there's time and thought and care that goes into it.

So please don't hear under this point of perspicuity, me saying that everything in the Bible is easy and obvious. Even the Bible doesn't say that bits of the Bible are easy and obvious. That's not what this means, but rather this means that everything that is needed for knowing God is in the Bible and with humility and with patience and with the help of god's holy spirit, it can be understood. And so I wanna say to the young ones here, and particularly some of the kids, don't think that you just have to leave the Bible to grown ups. Yeah?

That you can't read it and it's a grown up book. No. No. No. The Bible is for kids as well.

You can sit and read it and with god's help and spirit, you can understand the true meaning of the Bible. And for those of us, there are kids bibers as well to help. Yeah. And for those of us who are an adults here, maybe we're not from this, from England, and English is difficult for us, or we haven't been following Jesus very long. We might just think, oh, there's no way I can deal with about it.

I've gotta leave it to the experts. No. No. You you can. With wisdom and with the help of god's spirit, you can read the Bible and come to the meaning, but get the clear meaning of the Bible.

And so this is a big word, isn't it? It's a good word. We all try and say it together? Perspectuity. Persbecuity.

Yeah. The perspicuity of the Bible. Okay. That's our 1st word. But now we need to ask another question.

If god's word is clear, can it be trusted? Right? We've done perspicuity. Are you ready for word number 2? Yes.

Word number 2. Here it is. The inerrancy of the Bible. Inerrancy. Okay?

Remember, these are words your mates and teachers are just not gonna know. Okay? Perpacuity, the inerrancy of the Bible, which simply means that the word of god is without error. It is without error or to put it more positively, the word that god has given us is true. It's a true word.

It's not 10 percent true. You know, like squash, you can put 10 percent squash in and 90 percent water, or you can put 30 percent squash, 70 percent water. It's not a bit of truth and then dilated, diluted with non truth. It's 100 percent truth or 100 percent squash, which would be horrible in that illustration. You want squash diluted, but not the Bible.

100 percent true. Yeah. The Bible is inerrant. Now I bought this in from home, and most of you will know what this is. Maybe some of the Oh, yeah.

Some of the little ones. Do you know what this is called, Podi? You don't know what it's called? Do you know what it does? Like, bubbles in it.

Yeah. All the bubbles. And the the green thing is bubbles there is in very middle. Yeah. Like that.

Right. Okay. Well done. That was a pretty good explanation that none of you probably would have heard, but it was a pretty good explanation. So this is called a spirit level.

Yeah. And it is a bit like a ruler. But as you can see, well, you probably can't actually, that with this spirit level, it's got a little air bubble that is in some little tubes of liquid. And what you do is you put your spirit level on a shelf or on a table or on a picture frame, and this spirit level will tell you whether you are dealing with something crooked or whether you are dealing with something true. If you can get that little air bubble in between the 2 lines there, you are dealing with a true non crooked thing.

Okay? So when you're at home, you can go up to various surfaces and you can work out. Is it crooked or is it true? Now, it seems to me that the Bible, because it's in errand, and because it's cover to cover true serves us a bit like a spirit level does. In that, how am I supposed to know whether what my colleague tells me to do is right?

How am I supposed to know whether what my friends at school encouraged me to do is gonna be good for me. How am I supposed to know whether that person online telling me to live a certain way is actually telling me the truth. Well, I can get my spirit level word, and I can put it against what I'm being told. So my friend's telling me to do this. How do I know if it's true?

I can put the truth against it because this has been perfectly calibrated and designed to give me truth all the time. So I just put it against my friend or my colleague, not literally. Don't actually have to put it again. That's not really the point of it. But you put it against them in your mind and you can work out whether that bit of advice or that teaching is crooked or is that gonna lead me true?

The Bible is in errant. It's true. It helps us to work out in the world what is true. And what isn't? And it seems to me that in the world we live in, it is more and more important that we become familiar with the truth, and we carry our spirit levels with us always because we are in a world where many, many images, many, many clips, many, many voices are not what we think they are or not what they appear to be.

Okay? Now, I've got another game. Are you ready? You can either with depending on their performance in the last game, you can either work with the same person, or you can work with a different person. It's up to you.

Okay? I'm gonna show you a series of images And you've got to decide whether they are bot or not. Okay? Are they bot or are they not? Are they real or are they fake?

Okay. Here's the 1st 1. Is this photo of the arrest of president Donald Trump which got 6400000 views? Is it real? Or has it been made by AI?

Hands up if you think bot. Hands up if you think not. Okay. There's a couple of knots. Yes.

The skin is nowhere near orange enough is it. That that is a That is a bot. Okay? That is not a real. That's a fake image.

Okay. How about this 1? Is this photo of pope Francis real? Or has it been made by artificial intelligence? Hands up if you think bot?

Hands up if you think not. Okay. Well done. Your senses are, spidey senses are working. This picture is real.

This was when the wind lifted pope Francis' mental, as he delivered to a speech in Philadelphia in 2015. Okay. What about this 1? Is this bot or not? This is a picture of Tesla boss Elon Musk and Mary Berer?

I think you say it. She runs a rival car firm, General Motors. This got 14100000 views. Hands up if you think Bot. Hands up if you think not.

Or not, you think that's a not, James? I'm afraid you're wrong, my friend. This picture is a fake, and, this was posted as a joke, trying to create the impression that the 2 CEOs of the rival companies were together. Which wasn't true. And apparently, a sign that it was created by AI of a hands.

AI really struggles to create hands, apparently, particularly if the hand is touching something. And Elon Musk responded to this tweet saying that he would never wear that outfit. Okay. Last 1. Is this but or not, this photo of, Mark Zuckerberg got 1100000000 million views.

But is it real, or has it been made by AI, what do you think? Bot or not? Is it bots? Hands up if you think bots? Hands up if you think not.

Oh, that was trickier, wasn't it? This picture too was a fake. Although very realistic, it was an AI and Zuckerberg who usually wears very plain outfits is seen wearing clothes that are very unlike him. Okay? In other words, friends, it is increasingly hard to know what is true and what isn't.

That's why we need our spirit levels, and that's why we need together to rejoice in the Bible. Look at what the Bible says about itself. Jesus says in John 17 verse 17, your word is truth. Psalm 119, all your words are true. Proverbs 30, every word of god is flawless.

Hebrew 6, it is impossible for god to lie. So once again, a bit like perspicuity, where does this begin? Inerance, he doesn't begin with the Bible. It begins with the character of God. It is impossible for God to lie.

You know that stuff which comes so naturally to us? Little lies, little exaggerations, little ways we twist the truth, not taking responsibility when we should, trying to blame others, when we shouldn't all the many creative ways We play with the true. That's our natural language. It's impossible for God to do that. It's impossible.

His native language and all that he breathes is true. And therefore, the word that he has given us is true. The Bibles that we have in our hands or the Bibles that we own at home They contain 66 books. They're written by 40 different authors over a period of about 1500 years. And when you read the Bible, you see that God spoke through real people and they had different personalities.

Some of them were long and poetic, and others were short and punchy. But god without bypassing their personalities, made sure all that was recorded was exactly what he wanted to be recorded in such a way that the Bible we have is true. He inspired it He breathed it out, and he's kept it safe. The Bible is inerrant without error. It is true.

And, you know, for those of us here who are Christians, alongside the many arguments that there are, which strengthen our faith in god's words, you know, the great history of it, the way it's been passed down through the generations, the amount of manuscript copies that there are, all of those things which are very helpful for faith building. Is it not the case that as we have trusted in god's word, we have experienced its truth. That as by faith and with the help of god, we have gone god's way. There has been a sweetness and a peace that has come. With living by the truth.

Is that not your experience, Christian person? That the word of god has been seen to be true in your life. It's 1 of the things I loved about Ken's talk last, last week when Ken was up here, telling us about all that god has done in Mozambique. 1 of the things he said was, of course, there is a time when you're going into Islamic countries to show the wrong in Islam and the wrong in the Quran, there was also a simple confidence that he and his team had, that as the Bible is taught, it would be self authenticating, that it would be seen to be true as people trusted it and lived it. And that's right, isn't it?

In our lives? For all the arguments that help us. When a Christian person lives by the truth, there is a contentment and a peace itself authenticates in our lives. And so friends here for all the noise that we hear every day and there's so much noise we hear so much advice we're given and adverts that we watch and YouTube shorts, which Tell us how to live. As we listen to all of that, can we agree to not forget our spirit level?

To put the word of truth against everything we hear because this word is inerrant. It's true. And it will be seen to be true. As by grace, we live it out together. Right.

What was, big, beautiful bible word number 1? 1st Security. What about number 2? Inerrancy. Okay.

And number 3, probably slightly more well known. I think we're going to look at the sufficiency, the sufficiency of the Bible, perspicuity, inerrancy, sufficiency. Okay? Now, some of you over half term may have been lucky enough to have gone on holiday, and if you were particularly lucky, you might have had the opportunity to go on an airplane. Okay?

Now, you know, oops. Now, you know, with a airplane, 1 of the things that you can take as well as a hold bag is a cabin bag. Okay? Something that must be small enough and compact enough to be contained in the overhead lockers. Okay?

Now, of course, when it comes to a cabin bag, when you're trying to pack for a holiday, particularly if that's all you've got, you know as you look at it, that there are certain things from home, things which you really like perhaps, that you're not gonna be able to take with you. You're not gonna be able to take the trampoline with you, for instance. If that's all the space that you've got, and neither are you gonna be able to take the toaster with you. Okay? If you look at that space which you've got, All you can really do is pack everything that you need.

You pack the essentials, not maybe everything you'd like to take, but everything that you need. And in the same way, when we open up the Bible, we may not find everything that we would like to know, but we will find all that we need to know. For life and for godliness and for salvation in Christ Jesus. The scriptures are able to make us wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. It is all we need.

And that's what sufficiency means. The Bible is all we need for life and for godliness. Here's how it's put in 2 Timothy 3, these famous versus which would have belonged in any section this morning. Here they are. All scripture is god breathed.

And because god loves to be clear, it means he's breathed out clarity. And because god tells the truth, It means he's breathed out truth and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness so that the servant of god may be partly equipped, half equipped. Thoroughly equipped for every good work. The Bible is all we need. It's sufficient.

It's very helpful because I think sometimes as Christians, we can be a bit worried that maybe we don't have enough information in the Bible to really trust Christ. Maybe we need something more. This this faith thing feels quite big. Maybe it isn't enough the Bible for Christian faith. Or maybe we need a secret message just for us.

The Bible's good, but just a a secret personal message to confirm it would be really helpful. Or maybe we feel we need a a new revelation, something more than what God has given just to push us over the line. But the sufficiency of scripture tells us that all we need to hear from god is contained in the Bible. Now, again, that doesn't mean that the Bible mentions every situation we'll face. It doesn't mention every person by name that we're likely to have a difficult time with.

But it does give us everything we need for every situation. So think of it this way. Imagine it's your 1st day at a new job. And the boss, rather, unfortunately, for you, has only given you half of what you need to do the work. He's only given you half a toolkit or he hasn't given you all the passwords you need to access the systems, or there's some software missing software which you just don't have, which you need to do your job.

And so in that situation, you literally cannot do the work. The problem there is not your effort. It's that what you have been given is not sufficient for this new life you've been called to live. Well, let's rerun it. We're back on day 1 now.

And in this scenario, everything you need has been given to you. You have every tool in the toolkit that you're ever gonna need. You have all the passwords so you can access all the systems. There's no software missing. It's all been given to you.

What is gonna happen in that situation? Well, of course, you're still gonna have to learn how to use and apply these various tools. It's only day 1. You're gonna spend years learning how to use what you've been given. But do you see that nothing essential is missing in that scenario?

You you have everything you need, but learning to understand and apply it is gonna take a lifetime. That's very different from only being provided with half of what you need. Yeah? Well, in the same way, the Bible is not 50 percent of what we need for life and godliness. It does not partly equip us for every good work.

It is not able to make us a little bit wise for salvation. In Christ Jesus. It does not require a top up of extra revelations. It does not need any improvements from our culture. It is everything that we need.

And so oftentimes, the problem is not that the Bible is lacking. It's that we're still learning how to use and apply god's sufficient word. To our lives. The truth which god has given us is sufficient. So let me ask, boys and girls, adults, whether you're a new Christian, not a Christian, older Christian, How how are we doing with what we believe about the Bible?

It's worth revisiting from time to time, isn't it? The post security, the inerrancy, the sufficiency. How how are we doing when it comes to knowing and living god's word. Perhaps you've got a car with 1 of, with 1 of these things in it. This is known as a lane drift alarm or a lane drift warning.

And as you're going along, perhaps on the a 3, perhaps on the motorway, if for whatever reason, tidness, fatigue, distraction, you start to drift out of your lane. There'll be a little alarm on the heads up display, a little logo, a flash and a noise just to warn you, it's orange 1st and then red. That you're beginning to drift. And of course, the reason we do that is because very often drift happens without us realizing. We're going along thinking that we're okay, not realizing that we're drifting.

That can happen with Bible truth. Can't it? That can happen with the sinfulness of sin. Maybe we believe that at 1 time, but as time goes on, we can start to soften and drift. Maybe thoughts of eternity and judgment.

At 1 time, we were sure of them. But as time goes on, we begin to drift, and it can happen with the bible as well. You see, maybe at 1 time, we can look back to a point where we had very strong convictions that the Bible was the word of God, that it was clear, no error, everything we need, and we looked at culture and listened, and we knew that the Bible was how we had to view and assess everything. But over time, we can get soft on these things. Can't we?

And we read a particular article or a book, or we listen to somebody online, and all of a sudden our convictions aren't what they once were. We we begin to drift away. And I hope we've seen this morning, and maybe if it's relevant to you, we've heard something of the Lane drift alarm. Just go. Like, we need to come back.

We need to come back and remember the perspicuity of the Bible. The Bible is clear. We need to remember the inerrancy of the Bible. The Bible is true. We need to remember the sufficiency of the Bible.

The Bible is enough. In our last song, we're gonna sing these words. Just listen to these. This is amazing. How firm a foundation you saints of the lord is laid for your faith in his excellent word.

What more can he say? Poison girls and adults. What more can he say than to you, he has said. We have an excellent foundation in the true, clear. All we need Bible.

Father, we thank you so much for the firm foundation that you have given us in your word, the Bible. Where else can we go? Lord, Jesus, you have the words of eternal life. We thank you that they are clear. We thank you that they are true, and we thank you that they are sufficient.

They are all that we need. Please would you help us to keep trusting in your precious word, and we thank you above all that in this book, we see a clue a clear true picture of Jesus Christ, our savior who lived and died and rose for us. Thank you that every soul here who's trusted in the lord Jesus will never, ever, ever be abandoned by you. We go now in his name and in the name of the father and the spirit. Amen.
