Journey to the city of the King, an adaptation of John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress, adapted and told by Pete Woodcock.
In this introductory episode of Journey to the City of the King, an adaptation of John Bunyan’s The Pilgrim’s Progress, we meet a man living in the "City of Destruction." Influenced by the warnings of a storyteller named Evangelist and a mysterious book, the man becomes burdened by a physical weight representing his fears and seeks a way to the "Beautiful City."
Despite the ridicule of his family and the interventions of his neighbors, Mr. Stubborn and Mr. Putty, he sets out on a perilous journey. The path is immediately challenging as he and Mr. Putty stumble into Misery Marsh, a place that quickly tests their resolve. While his companion abandons the quest at the first sign of trouble, the man’s cry for assistance brings a member of the King’s rescue team named Help, who saves him from sinking and sets him back on his path.
